4 Mins read

When Ford unveiled its full electric Mustang Mach E crossover SUV in the year 2019, it got praised from the most renowned people in the world. Many congratulation messages and tweets followed with this new technological advancement that Ford came forward with.

One of the best minds in the technology world, Mr. Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, tweeted, “Congratulations on the Mach E! Sustainable/electric cars are the future!! Excited to see this announcement from Ford, as it will encourage other carmakers to go electric too” To which, Ford gratefully replied “Thanks, Elon,” Ford tweeted in response to Musk. “We couldn’t agree more. See you at the charging station!”

Even though this Ford Mustang SUV was a rival for Tesla’s model Y SUV, it still got encouragement from Elon Musk. The reason behind this is simple, the world needs to pick up its pace, as far as the use of clean and environmental friendly energy consumption is concerned.

Over the years, the transition from fossil fuel, oil based fuel and other forms of gasoline being used to run cars has been somewhat slow and steady. However, this started way back in the early 2000s when Toyota took the initiative to launch its first hybrid car into the market. It took a while before people or customers became accustomed to the idea of driving hybrids but now it seems that the day when the whole world will using fully electric cars, is not far away.

More people are using hybrids and electric cars than before and in 2014, according to stats around 2.75% of the US market had already been captured by hybrid cars. In other parts of the world, the percentage even went up as high as 20%, such as Japan. According to different reports, most used cars in NZ, for sale also happen to be either electric or hybrids. The steady growth of hybrid technology can be seen in the graph below.

However, now the all-electric cars are entering the market. Coming back to Ford, they have also launched many other plug-in chargeable cars like Fusion Energi as well.
