Aston Martin DBR1

In 1956, the Aston martin DBR1 was built for the world sportscar championship. It was on the track of 24 hours of Le Mans where the DBR1 have its most famous victory. In the 50s the car won six world sportscar championships and built a record until it was surpassed by the Ferrari 250TR. As per the telegraph only five such cars were made. Bloomberg called the DBR1 as the ‘most important Aston martin ever made’. The price was $2.5 million, but in august 2017, world record was made for a British made car to be sold at the price of $22.555, 000.

Jaguar XK120-C

Jaguar XK120-C, also called the C-type was a racing sports car built in the years from 1951 to 1953. With a relatively lightweight tubular framework, the car had an aerodynamic body that was developed by RJ knight, Heynes and Malcolm Sayer. 53 of such models were built, out of which 43 were sold out to the private owners. This makes it the rarest jaguar in the world! The last jaguar was sold in Italy at an RM auction in 2015 for worth $13.2 million making it the most expensive jaguar to be sold at such a rate. Successful at racing, the jaguar C-type won the Le Mans 24 hours races in 1951 and 1953.

Bugatti Type 41 Royale Kellner Coupe

Bugatti being a luxury vehicle was known for its high-priced and high-end supercars. The type 41 was especially known as the Royale for being a large luxury car that was built in between 1927 and 1933. The weight was approximately 7000 pounds and make use of the straight-eight engine. Huge! Isn’t it? For the purpose of comparison, the modern day Rolls-Royce phantom is 25% lighter and 20% shorter than the Bugatti type 41. In fact it is one of the largest and most stylish cars in the world. Ford GT40

Being an original high performance racing car, it is the precursor of today’s popular ford GT supercar. It was powered by the American-based engines that were especially built for the car. The GT40 won four back-to-back 24 hours of Le Mans. The car was originally built to won against the Ferrari and yes it succeeded in the mission winning between 1964 to 1969 six times in a row. Only 105 of such cars were produced all running on different engines. In 2014, the car being the prototype GT40, as per the hemming, was sold in $7 million.

Porsche 550 Spyder

Between 1953 and 1956, a super popular racing car Porsche 550 was produced. 90 such cars were built and yes there are far less that has reached the modern era. The car is aluminum with 1.5 liter four cylinder engine that was called as ‘Fuhrmann engine’. This engine powered the car with 110 horsepower. The design of the car was in a way to make the car closer to the ground to make it a perfect racing car. The special thing about the spyder 550 was that it was suitable for both track and the road. The car alone was sold at the price of $6 million making it the most expensive Porsche to be sold at such rate.
